    Dentists, can grinding your teeth from side to side and clenching your jaw cause dental problems?

      Yes. It’s called Bruxism (teeth grinding) and is very common. You should have your Dentist make you a mouth guard to wear at night. That will help quite a bit.

      Yes! You can get headaches earache and neck ache and shoulder ache from tense muscles and destroy your teeth. If it carries on ask about getting a mouth guard to protect your teeth at night. They’re a bit like the plastic gum shields you wear for sports. Try relaxation exercises as well.

      Destroyed teeth after developing tooth grinding habit after my house disappeared ubder 5 foot of water and was in temporary accommodation for 18 months!

      Yes what it does is wear your teeth away and cause pain after a while… So what you should do is go to your dentist and ask for a teeth guard which will keep you from grinding your teeth.

      Its called bruxism a psychological problem.. It causes attrition (wearing away) of ur tooth edges.. Its harmful and may need treatment…
